About
Ozee B is a Nigerian/Canadian who started in the music industry as a sound engineer in the earlier years of his career years ago. He is a Benin born in Edo State and living in Toronto, Canada. Through mixing and mastering music for many Afro-Pop, Afrobeats, and Reggae artists he found the undying passion to create his music with his type of stream. His inspiration was not just his desire but his natural love for good music and sound.
In 2015 he released his first joint album with ICU Records comrade Afrobeats artist Success K- titled “Try Me”. The album was launched in Toronto Canada with the support of Madd Haus Pro. The album was inspired by the two artists’ momentum to leave their mark in the Canadian music industry.
The album had a single titled “Gentleman”, which was influenced by Fela Kuti’s style of music. As a major pioneer of the Afrobeats music genre in Canada the duo artists felt it was essential to show gratitude through their rendition; which featured AO Gorman and Ouzzy. The album had singles such as “Try Me” and “Mula” produced by Dr Rad, Appiah, and Sonic all in Toronto Canada. It also featured many Afrobeats artists in Canada such as; Blacko Blaze, Slimflex, TMajor, and Freeman Nadawo to name a few. From the release of the “Try Me” album the hit song “Try Me” was performed on many stages such as Afrofest, Carassauga, and the Suyanation Festival in Canada. He opened up for artists such as Flavour, Davido, and Olamide, J Matins, and Bisa kdei between 2015 and 2019.
Through many years in the music industry, he has received much recognition from his community for his achievements in music and the arts. In 2016 Ozee B was nominated in the Best Artist, Best Video, and Best Group/Label categories at the African Entertainment Awards in Toronto, Canada which he walked away with the Best Group/Label. In 2017 he was nominated for Best Video, Best Group, and Best African Artist categories at the Kilimandjaro Awards in Canada. In 2017 he was nominated in the Best African Artist category at the Black Canadian Music Awards; which he walked away with Best African Artist.
Through the years Ozee B continues to produce and master many hits for him and others. He was recently named one of the Ambassadors for a Toronto-based African eatery the Suya Spot which continuously supports the music and style of Ozee B. Ozee B is currently in the works with Success K to drop anther joint album for 2019 and much more. Ozee B is currently signed to Ruffnodd Entertainment managed by the pioneer Afrobeat music legend Executive producer Ayo Jos-Ogbebor in Toronto, Canada.
